Arrival & Dismissal

Dismissal Changes

Any dismissal changes should be emailed to the office at loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us by 1pm.

Car Pickup and Drop Off

For car pickup and drop off, you will enter the school by the baseball field and follow the drive around the school, exiting on the opposite side.

Car Drop Off

Staff members are outside on the sidewalk between the gym and library doors at 7:45 a.m. each morning. Please do not leave your child(ren) without staff members present. Car drop off is an active process to keep the cars moving. At 7:55 a.m., school doors will be closed and secured. If your child(ren) arrive after 7:55 a.m., they are late but still Pawsome. At this time, you will need to park and walk your child(ren) to the front door to sign them in.

Car Pickup

Each family will receive a yellow card that needs to be displayed for car pickup. Please remember to display your yellow card on your dashboard visible to staff members on duty. If you are new to Loring, you will be receiving a yellow card on the first day of school in your child's backpack. If you are a returning family and need a new (or additional) yellow card or you do not receive a yellow card after the first day, please email the office at loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us with your child's name and teacher.

The gates for car pickup will open at 2:00 p.m. each afternoon. Car pickup/drop off is an active process to keep the cars moving. If you have any questions at all, please reach out to the front office. Car pickup ends at 2:35 p.m. All remaining students will be brought to the front office to be picked up there.

Walking

If your child is a Walker (this includes biking and scooters) here is some helpful information for a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal.

Arrival

If your child walks to school in the morning, it is important to know that they should enter through the front door of the school. The doors open at 7:45 a.m., when we are staffed. Your child should not be arriving earlier than 7:45 a.m., as the doors will be closed, and we do not have staff available to monitor the safety of your child.

Dismissal

Walkers will be brought out by grade and depending upon the direction they are traveling home will check out and meet thier cargivers near the side dining room door or the flagpole.  If your child walks home it is import the office knows if they must be accompied, can walk with an older sibling or ok as an independent walker.
