Field Day - June 6th
We continue to have very busy weeks here at Loring School and that will continue until our last day on June 16th. Please remember that the last day, June 16th is an early release (11:45 a.m. dismissal).
Dear Families,
We had Grade 5 Science MCAS today and yesterday. All students demonstrated best effort through testing. We are so proud of our 5th grade students.
Dear Families,
Our 3-5 Grade students have been doing a great job with MCAS. I have been so impressed with the best effort students are showing during testing.
I had a few things to share this week so I am capturing them all in an extra newsletter. Lucky You! Thanks in advance for your time to review the newsletter and please let me know if you have any questions.
It has been nice to see so many families in the building as they are coming in for teacher conferences. I had the opportunity to join a few conferences and it was wonderful to hear the collaborative conversations happening between teachers and families about our students.
Teacher conferences are off to a great start! If you have not signed up for a conference, please reach out to your child's teacher as soon as possible.
We have had a busy few weeks leading up to break. Today we had an All School Creative Enrichment with author Ada Ari. She met with each grade level for 40 minutes during the day. It was a very fun, active and educational experience. The students and teachers had a blast!
Winter is in full swing. Please make sure that your child has winter gear at school for recess. We get outside as much as possible and use the Child |Care Weather Watch as out guide (see below). Please keep an eye on the weather and send your child in prepared to go outside on days that are safe to be outside for 25 minutes.
Thanks to everyone who filled out our Family Survey created by our School Council. We reviewed the information at our recent meeting and shared it with the staff as well.
I can't believe it is already December and we will be on winter break in 10 school days! This newsletter contains some happenings from the end of November. As you can see, we continue to have lots of fun while doing lots of learning throughout the building.
It's hard to believe that we will be closing out 2024 and getting ready to welcome 2025! I am incredibly proud of the work our students and teachers do each day. Being the principal at Loring brings me immense joy! School will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd.
I hope you are enjoying the last bits of summer as we gear up for another Pawsome school year. Our fabulous custodians, Shawn Maguire and Susie Trubiani have been working hard all summer to get our building ready to welcome students and staff. Our amazing administrative assistants, Paula Saliga and Vicki Harrington started back this week and are busily collecting paperwork from families to ensure everyone is ready to start back on August 28th (grades 1-5) and September 3 for our kindergarten students.
As we wrap up another school year, I wanted to share some information before summer begins in my last newsletter. If anything does come up for your child over the summer, please reach out via email.
