Transportation
We are encouraging patience with bus transportation when school opens.
We ask parents, guardians, and drivers in the area to have patience the first few weeks of school. New routes, changes to existing routes, road closures, helping new and younger students, and children being late to bus stops are all reasons why a bus may not be on schedule. The bus drivers have been making dry runs of the bus routes to be sure the stops are safe and efficient and to familiarize themselves with the routes.
Through September, we will be working with drivers and receiving their feedback on the existing routes. Any requests for changes will be taken into consideration.
The FirstView app will go live at some point in October to make bus tracking possible. We will email out school codes when the app is ready to go.
Children are required to be at bus stops 10 minutes before scheduled pick-up times. Parents of kindergartners and first graders are required to be at bus stops when buses pick up and drop off those younger students.
Bus routes and bus stops are based on registrations and payments received by the May 14, 2024, deadline. Late registration is subject to the availability of space regardless of no-fee or fee-based status, will be charged a $75 late fee, are subject to seat availability, and may have to go to an existing bus stop. Bus passes will be issued by the end of August 2024. For the safety of all, student riders will be asked and must present bus passes to drivers before boarding.
Transportation fees for families living under two miles from their school, and ALL 7th and 8th grade students, are:
- First student: $420
- Family cap: $765
- Late fee: $75
Reduced or waived fees will be considered for eligible families. Applications are available from the Business Office or here: FY25 Financial Aid Form
Transportation registration is done through MySchoolBucks.com. If you have not already created an account on MySchoolBucks for school lunch, you will need to do so and register for transportation.
